Lead the cooking and final execution of meals for our Personal Chef clients
Develop creative, flavorful meals based on client preferences, dietary needs, available ingredients, and seasonality
Use strong culinary instincts to improvise and create dishes without relying on a recipe for every step
Maintain Plenty Goods’ standards for flavor, quality, presentation, and consistency
Work closely with our kitchen team, who will provide prep support
Coordinate with the café team to ensure meals are completed accurately and on schedule
Help maintain an organized, clean, and efficient cooking environment
Occasionally contribute ideas for new dishes, menus, and ways to elevate our Personal Chef offerings

We’ve intentionally designed this role so you can focus on what you do best: cooking.
You will not be responsible for:
Grocery shopping
Meal delivery
Cooking in clients' homes
Managing client relationships
Running the administrative side of the Personal Chef business
You'll have prep support from our kitchen team and the infrastructure of Plenty Goods behind you.

We're looking for someone who:
Has professional culinary experience and strong cooking fundamentals
Is confident cooking independently and making decisions on the fly
Has excellent knowledge of flavor, technique, and seasonality
Can create a great meal from whatever ingredients are available
Doesn't need a recipe for every dish
Is creative, curious, and genuinely loves food
Has high standards for quality and presentation
Is organized, reliable, and efficient
Can work collaboratively with a kitchen team
Takes pride in their work and follows through
Understands that great food comes from both creativity and consistency
You don't need to have a traditional "Personal Chef" background. We care more about how you cook, how you think, and how you approach food than what your previous job title was.

2–3 days per week
The schedule will be based around our Personal Chef production needs and will generally be scheduled in advance. Monday, and Thursday for sure and one additional day.

$35–$45/hour, depending on experience
This is a 1099 independent contractor position.

Oversee daily café operations, ensuring the team, kitchen, and front of house are organized and running to standard
Lead, train, coach, and hold team members accountable
Manage scheduling, staffing, and day-to-day operational needs
Maintain and improve SOPs, checklists, systems, and workflows
Oversee inventory, ordering, receiving, storage, and waste
Help maintain food quality, safety, cleanliness, and customer service standards
Handle day-to-day customer and staff issues and know when to escalate
Identify problems and inefficiencies and proactively find solutions
Lead team meetings and support ongoing training
Work closely with Chef Sarah on business priorities while taking ownership of day-to-day operations

An experienced hospitality, café, restaurant, or food-service leader
A strong people manager who can set expectations and hold people accountable
Highly organized and detail-oriented
A confident decision-maker who doesn't need constant approval
Proactive, dependable, and solutions-oriented
Comfortable in a small, fast-moving business
Systems-minded and interested in making things work better
A strong communicator who can give and receive direct feedback
Passionate about good food, hospitality, and building a great team
This role is for someone who wants to take ownership — not simply manage a shift.
